Sep 23 -- For up to date information on Family Day, mask requirements in Daytona and the Ocean Center, and other info, click Posts, and review the Sep 23 Daytona Update.
August 13, 2020 UPDATE: Includes info on two additional hotels-- Hampton Inn Daytona Beach and the Hawaiian Inn who have offered discounts to Feastgoers for their oceanfront room.
We have worked with the Ocean Center in ways to accommodate all who are registered for Daytona to come to the Feast this year, taking into account social and seating distancing guidelines, and other local recommendations. We will be meeting in the 94,000 square feet Exhibition Hall which will allow more than 1,000 to safely attend this site, where we can all meet and fellowship safely in one room, with all guidelines, in mind.
The Center will be setting up the seating for us. In addition we will have a separate room that will be designated "mask only," for those who prefer to wear a mask the entire time. Those coming to fellowship in that room will be asked to put a mask on in respect of those seated there.
There are no masking requirements when on the beach, but there are currently in place masking requirements when in public places. Most of the housing we have is beachside or across from the beach. We have added two hotels -- the Hampton Inn Daytona Beachfront and the Hawaiian Inn-- to our list of hotels that have provided significant discounts for Feastgoers. Details for these hotels is provided under the Housing tab of this site.
Please note: Because the Convention Bureau is offering the Church an incentive, we ask that wherever you make lodging reservations you specifically let them know and ask them to record that you are with the United Church of God.
If you have questions, or need assistance in housing or anything else concerning the Feast in Daytona, please feel free to call or email me.
We are looking forward to spending the Feast with all of you in this place, one of which is where God has placed His name this year.

They call it “the World’s Most Famous Beach.” Indeed, Daytona Beach is blessed with literally miles of wide, white sand beaches that encourage walking, jogging, sunbathing, swimming or just lounging and enjoying the sunny, warm temperatures. Most hotel rooms have views of the expansive ocean that extends as far as the eye can see.
It brings to mind Habakkuk 2:14, “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.”
There is a multitude of housing opportunities in Daytona Beach, including all sizes and price ranges of hotel rooms, hotel suites, condominiums, studio apartments and homes—all within a mile or two of the beautiful, modern Ocean Center, which will be the hub of Feast activity. Daily services, Bible studies, family activities, and other events will be held here.
A variety of group activities—including a family day, senior banquet and teen and young adult events—are planned, and will be scheduled nearby to take advantage of the natural settings.
Daytona also has a wide range of places for shopping and dining as well as numerous world-renowned attractions, all of which are open. These include the Daytona Lagoon (a large recreational area with go-karts and putt-putt golf adjacent to the Ocean Center), the Daytona International Speedway, the Daytona 500 Experience, the Boardwalk and Pier (with its amusement park), Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and more.
Deep-sea fishing excursions, miniature and regular golf, boat rentals and other recreational opportunities are plentiful.
The normal high temperature for early October is 82-86 degrees and the average low is around 70 degrees. Travelers can fly into Daytona Beach International Airport or into the airports in Orlando or Jacksonville, both of which are 1- 1½ hours from Daytona Beach.
Around 1,000 people are expected to attend this site this year. The first service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday evening, Oct. 2.
Note: Parking is free for members at this site when they use the designated Ocean Center parking lot for UCGia. But the parking charge that will be assessed to the Church is being reimbursed by the Daytona Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau as an incentive for bringing the Feast to Daytona Beach. Such reimbursement is based upon demonstrating that our members are utilizing Daytona hotels, motels, condos and rental homes. Anyone registering for Daytona Beach must be willing to fill out the housing survey or a form showing where they are staying so it can be verified by the convention bureau. Thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter.
