Hoarding
It seems for most people what they own increases with their ability to buy and store items. Often the items are rarely used and gather dust. Somehow we are driven by an inner force that is never satisfied with seeing or hearing (Ecclesiastes 1:8). The eyes of a man are never satisfied (Proverbs 27:20). There is nothing wrong with being curious, having possessions or wanting to see different places, just as long as we are able to put control in place. We have been created on this glorious and wonder-filled earth. Wanting to find out more about it is wise and blessed by God.
“Whatever you hand finds to do, do with all your might,” is a guideline from God (Ecclesiastes 9:10). However, within His guidelines is the implicit point of understanding that there is nothing in this life or world that we can take with us when we die. So first and foremost a wise person will be constantly aware that life can end suddenly. Building a new "barn" is good if a person is rich toward God (Luke 12:21).
