Sometimes it's amazing what we can learn from a pest! While the weather is nice and food can be found in abundance, the ant doesn't just collect what it needs for that day and then go play. Instead, it collects and stores up in the plentiful summer months for the leaner winter times.

What a contrast this is from the way many in our society live today. We borrow from tomorrow what we may not be able to repay. We refinance our homes--going deeper in debt--to buy expensive toys we have little time to use. In today's society, debt is a way of life in contrast to that of our forefathers who lived more by the philosophy of the ant.

I have watched so many people in my family do this. They have to all have the finer things in life. My husband and I live meagerly. We have an old model mobile home that we have fixed up. We are on a limited income so we make use of the local food pantry. In summer we plant a garden and our food storage is quite full. We both volunteer for the community service so we feel we are giving back and helping others.
God has blessed us in so many ways. We are looking forward to the day that the Lord comes and takes us out of this evil world. In the meantime we have our own battles but I turn them over to the Lord and go on my way, thankful, happy, and free of all worries. I hope God blesses you all in the same way that he has us.

As of July 2, one week ago Sunday, I was baptized by full immersion by Pastor Andy Diemer,
New England Pastor for UCG. Just in the few short days I can say without hesitation that the Spirit of God has come upon me. I had several days of nothing but peace of mind, no worries, no evil thoughts, just peace of mind and heart. I pray that this continues. I pray twice a day and speak the Ten Commandments everyday. I ask God to guide my steps in everything I do. Trials will come and go but God is always there, just for the asking. I praise his Holy name.
