2. Linda Ritter: Linda Ritter was given the results of her recent biopsy on her breast. They have confirmed that she has breast cancer. After the feast she will meet with her doctor to discuss treatment options. She has strong faith and understands that she’s in good hands with God on her side. Please be praying for her health and wisdom. She still plans to attend the feast with her granddaughters. Thank you for your prayers!

3. Becky Sexton: After having complications from a surgery to bypass a blood clot, Becky had been put into ICU. Since then, Becky has improved quite a bit, and is expected to be released from the hospital this evening or tomorrow morning. She appears to be healing very quickly, and the family is grateful for your prayers!

Recent Prayer Requests:

1. Todd Bickel: Todd requests your prayers as he undergoes testing for possible prostate cancer. An MRI is scheduled in the next couple of weeks. Please pray for good results and peace of mind. This is weighing heavily on Todd’s mind. 

2. Victoria Banit: Victoria was able to come home, which is great! She’s receiving some rehab in her home. Unfortunately, she’s still having trouble walking, as well as getting in and out of a vehicle, and stairs (which is a challenge as they have a multi-level home). She’s grateful for your continued prayers.

3. Freeman Kuhns: So far, Freeman has been doing well with the larger dose of chemotherapy. Your continued prayers for Freeman and Debbie are appreciated!

Local Announcements:

1. Day of Atonement: October 12th is God’s Holy Day, the Day of Atonement. The service will begin at 2:00 pm. There will be an offering taken up during the service. It is a day of fasting, so there will be no refreshments or coffee that day.

2. New Phone Stream Service for the Feast of Tabernacles:

We’re thrilled to introduce our NEW phone stream service, for those who want to listen to church services conveniently on their phones.

Join us for the LIVE Feast of Tabernacles services from Panama City Beach, Florida, starting the evening of Wednesday, October 16, and continuing through Thursday, October 24.

 ​There are two ways to register for this FREE service—there's no phone charge!

1. Phone Registration: Individuals can call this toll-free number and follow the prompts to register their phone number. This will allow them to receive a call from the United Church of God when the service starts.

** Individuals can also call this number to listen to the live phone stream if we are streaming the audio.  Caller ID will display either 833-435-4535 or UCG Sabbath.

2. Online Registration: If you need assistance, the pastor can access this online form to submit the names and phone numbers of individuals who would like to register for this free service:

Important: Please submit all names and phone numbers by Wednesday, October 16, at 3 PM Central to ensure that individuals receive a phone call for the opening night service. Note that this service is currently available only in North America.

We’re excited to introduce this brand-new service! While we have conducted limited testing and encountered no difficulties, we’re eager to see how it performs.

In addition to this new phone stream, we will continue to offer the phone hookups that are currently available in Panama City Beach, FL, and Klamath Falls, OR. 

We’re looking forward to using this new service as an opportunity to gauge its effectiveness and gather feedback from listeners.  

3. God’s Creation Calendar & Card Fundraiser: Please see the attached document if you are interested in one of the Scriptural calendars or card sets that our Cleveland brethren annually order from God’s Creation Youth Group Promotions. This year the funds earned will go toward hosting the Women’s Weekend in the Cleveland area next year. The card sets (12 pack) and calendar price this year are $9.00.

4. Change of Time for Services: Ministerial and Member Services has tasked us with creating a circuit of the North Canton and Cleveland churches. To accommodate a traveling schedule for the minister, both churches will be changing service times (not locations) starting on November 2nd, the second Sabbath after the Feast of Tabernacles this year. Starting November 2nd, North Canton will begin meeting at 10:30 AM for Sabbath Services, and Cleveland will begin meeting at 2:00 PM. 

5. Bible Study Survey: in preparation for a newly scheduled Bible Study, a survey has been made to gather the suggestions and preferences of all who might care to participate. This survey is available online (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZTKJKGS), but there are several copies printed up today in case you are unable to use the online version. 

6. North Canton Directory Update: Our North Canton Directory has been updated! It is available as a PDF. If you would prefer having a paper copy, please email stephen_bouchette@ucg.org. 

7. Portsmouth Dinner Dance: From Kevin Call and the Portsmouth Brethren: "Unfortunately, after a lot of thought and consideration, the Portsmouth dinner/dance scheduled for November 9th is being cancelled for this year.  Anyone who already paid for their meal tickets will be refunded through their original payment.  We apologize for having to do this, and may reschedule it in 2025.  Thank you."
