Recent Prayer Requests:

1. Todd Bickel: Todd requests your prayers as he undergoes testing for possible prostate cancer. An MRI is scheduled in the next couple of weeks. Please pray for good results and peace of mind. This is weighing heavily on Todd’s mind.
2. Victoria Banit: Victoria was able to come home last Wednesday, which is great! She’s receiving some rehab in her home. Unfortunately, she’s still having trouble walking, as well as getting in and out of a vehicle, and stairs (which is a challenge as they have a multi-level home). She’s grateful for your continued prayers.
3. Freeman Kuhns: So far, Freeman has been doing well with the larger dose of chemotherapy. Your continued prayers for Freeman and Debbie are appreciated!
4. Linda Ritter: Please continue to pray for Linda. She was happy to come to services on Feast of Trumpets, but she’s still awaiting biopsy results from a lump in her breast. Please pray that the tests reveal no concerns for Linda.

Local Announcements:

1. Day of Atonement: Next Sabbath, October 12th is God’s Holy Day, the Day of Atonement. The service will begin at 2:00 pm. There will be an offering taken up during the service. It is a day of fasting, so there will be no refreshments or coffee that day.
2. Pre-feast Video: Council of Elders Chairman, Tim Pebworth, has prepared a four-minute video for brethren to view on YouTube in advance of the upcoming Holy Days. 3. God’s Creation Calendar & Card Fundraiser: Please see the attached document if you are interested in one of the Scriptural calendars or card sets that our Cleveland brethren annually order from God’s Creation Youth Group Promotions. This year the funds earned will go toward hosting the Women’s Weekend in the Cleveland area next year. The card sets(12 pack) and calendar price this year are $9.00.
4. Change of Time for Services: Ministerial and Member Services has tasked us with creating a circuit of the North Canton and Cleveland churches. To accommodate a traveling schedule for the minister, both churches will be changing service times (not locations) starting on November 2nd, the second Sabbath after the Feast of Tabernacles this year. Starting November 2nd, North Canton will begin meeting at 10:30 AM for Sabbath Services, and Cleveland will begin meeting at 2:00 PM.
5. Bible Study Survey: in preparation for a newly scheduled Bible Study, a survey has been made to gather the suggestions and preferences of all who might care to participate. This survey is available online (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ZTKJKGS), but there are several copies printed up today in case you are unable to use the online version.  
6. North Canton Directory Update: Our North Canton Directory has been updated! It is available as a PDF. If you would prefer having a paper copy, please email stephen_bouchette@ucg.org.
7. For those attending Cincinnati for the Feast of Tabernacles this year: We are so excited to spend the Feast with you! To help with the planning, we ask that you sign up for the following activities by October 1st, 2024. Due to a change in the hotel’s policy, we must submit the number of attendees for the Senior Luncheon as well as payment for all other meals/activities offered by October 11th, 2024. Please note, there are costs associated with some of these activities, but we never want the cost to be a reason that you do not attend. To that end, we have an option for you to sign up and we will have funds available through our Families Helping Families (FHF) fund to cover the cost. 8. Portsmouth Dinner Dance: The brethren in Portsmouth have shared the details of their annual dinner/dance. Please see below:

When: Saturday, November 9th

Where: Shawnee State University, 940 Second Street, Portsmouth, Ohio

Times: 2:30 to 4:30 Church services, 6:00 to 7:00 Dinner, 7:30 to 10:30 Dance

Catered meal includes: Grilled chicken, Mashed potatoes/gravy, Green beans, Macaroni ‘n Cheese, Salad, Dessert, Lemonade/tea/water

Prices for dinner are: $18 for ages 12 and up, $9 for ages 6-11 and Free for 5 and under (BUT we have to know they are coming for the count)
