North Canton Announcements:

  1. Service Times:

·      September 14th – 2:00 PM

·      September 21st – 2:00 PM

Current Prayer Requests:

1.     Linda Ritter: Linda was admitted to the hospital yesterday because her heart was once again bothering her. Overall, she’s feeling better now and expects to be discharged by tomorrow. Please remember to keep her in your prayers.

Address: 15521 Valley View Rd., Doylestown, OH 44230

Recent Prayer Requests:

2.     Victoria Banit: Victoria is still in the Timberland Ridge rehab facility, room 129. She hopes to go home soon. She appreciates your thoughts and prayers!

Rehab address: 3558 Ridgewood Rd., Akron, OH 44333

Home address: 2904 Cliffside Dr., Copley, OH 44321-2202

3.     Estachia Rodgers: The Rodgers family requests your prayers for Estachia Roberts. Estachia was discharged from the hospital after being in the hospital for more than a week, including being in ICU. They believe Estachia is suffering from a heart condition, but have yet to determine exactly what the issue is. They hope to control the issue with a blend of medications. The Rodgers are very grateful for your prayers and encouragement.

4.     Marlene Ware (Update): Marlene continues to struggle physically with MS. Your prayers for God’s mercy and intervention for her are very appreciated.

5.     Bonnie Anderson (Update): Bonnie is doing fairly well. Her doctor told her the bone is healing nicely, but he decided she should have a cast on her wrist into September (which was not what she or Chuck were hoping for). Bonnie is dealing with a good amount of pain in the evenings, so she would be grateful for your prayers on that note. She’s grateful for all the encouragement she’s received!

6.     Freeman & Debbie Kuhns (Update): Freeman and Debbie are hanging in there. They appreciate very much the prayers and thoughts. Let’s please continue the prayers for them.

Local Announcements:

  1. Change of Time for Services: Ministerial and Member Services has tasked us with creating a circuit of the North Canton and Cleveland churches. To accommodate a traveling schedule for the minister, both churches will be changing service times (not locations) starting on November 2nd, the second Sabbath after the Feast of Tabernacles this year. Starting November 2nd, North Canton will begin meeting at 10:30 AM for Sabbath Services, and Cleveland will begin meeting at 2:00 PM.
  2. Feast Baskets for Brethren keeping the Feast of Tabernacles at home are being prepared in advance. If you would like to contribute monetarily, please speak to Debbie Kuhns or Etta Murray. However, if you’d like to provide your own personal gift for them, you are certainly able to.
  3. Meal-train for the Evans Family: Adam, Jordan and Killian are not only moving, but also welcoming baby Makenna this month! We’d like to help them by preparing some meals for them in advance. We’ve organized this through an easy-to-use web interface called Mealtrain. You can go the site with this link: https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/kd2v4r

Also, through the website you are able to donate/give gift cards if that is a more convenient way for you to serve.

If you’d like to provide food but are unable to use a website to do so, please contact Stephen Bouchette (stephen_bouchette@ucg.org or 618.975.7249) to help facilitate.

  1. Attention Knitters: Ruth Murdock is offering to start a knit-a-long service project! If you are interested and would like to participate or learn, please contact Ruth to discuss all the possibilities.
  2. Teen Club – 1st Outing: Canoeing and Kayaking: September 15th

We are just one or two days away from our first Teen Club outing, an afternoon canoe trip near Hiram, Ohio. It will be a 5-mile paddle on the Cuyahoga River that will take roughly 2-3 hours. For more information, contact Nissa Hall at 678-646-7347.

  1. Bible Study Box: Before too long, we will begin a regular Bible Study. There is a small box with a sign stating “Bible Study Ideas”. If you’d like to contribute ideas for topics, or even suggested formats/times, it would be great to have your input! We’ve already received several very good topics. You can contribute anonymously if you like.
  2. North Canton Directory Update: Our North Canton Directory has been updated! It is available as a PDF. If you would prefer having a paper copy, please email stephen_bouchette@ucg.org.
  3. Festival Assistance: If you have been faithfully saving your festival tithe, but anticipate that you will not enough funds to attend the Feast this year, we will be happy to help where we can. If you think you will need additional funds, please contact your Festival Advisor or your pastor to get a Festival Assistance Member Information Form. Fill out the form and return it as soon as possible. (All information on the form will be treated as confidential.) The home office has asked us to have all assistance applications turned in by the end of June, so please pick up the form and return it to us as quickly as possible. Again, festival financial assistance is available for those who do not have adequate funds to attend the Feast even though they have faithfully saved their festival tithe, or their income is too limited for them to save adequate funds to attend.

15. For those attending Cincinnati for the Feast of Tabernacles this year: We are so excited to spend the Feast with you! To help with the planning, we ask that you sign up for the following activities by October 1st, 2024. Due to a change in the hotel’s policy, we must submit the number of attendees for the Senior Luncheon as well as payment for all other meals/activities offered by October 11th, 2024. Please note, there are costs associated with some of these activities, but we never want the cost to be a reason that you do not attend. To that end, we have an option for you to sign up and we will have funds available through our Families Helping Families (FHF) fund to cover the cost. Also, seniors, please use the same link to sign up for the (FREE) luncheon. LINK:
