2016 Feast of Tabernacles Report
Lake Malawi, Malawi, Africa
The atmosphere was good, and the weather was below 30 degrees Celsius. The highlight of the Feast was the dance, where an elderly member over 80 years old took to the floor to dance. Other activities included a variety show, swimming and volleyball. On family day it was great to see all the families coming together to cheer and watch both young and old taking part in the activities. The activities included tug-of-war (pull-of-peace), sack racing and fishing for apples from a bucket of water with your mouth. The preteens had a special treat with their own activities, gifts and goodies.
The senior citizens from 60 years old and above were treated to a delicious dinner at a nearby restaurant. We were also blessed to host five members from South Africa. They had a good time with us and didn’t regret coming to Malawi to keep the Feast. They told us that this was their best Feast ever. Group catering fostered good fellowship among the members and this was offered to members four times during the Feast.
The messages delivered were inspiring and uplifting. They emphasized the need for everyone to improve their relationship with God by keeping His commandments, praying and having private Bible study. They focused on fellowship with one another on weekly Sabbaths and annual Holy Days to prepare for the forthcoming Kingdom of God, where peace, genuine love, prosperity and security shall prevail in abundance. They also encouraged members to look forward to the wonderful world tomorrow, where Jesus Christ will reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords, with zeal and excitement.
