2016 Feast of Tabernacles Report
Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.A.
Both the temperatures and the hearts of the brethren were warm. The Spirit of God was evident through exceptional messages and a truly family-oriented mindset.
Sermons and sermonettes alike focused us all on God’s coming Kingdom and what we need to be doing in order to be there. We also enjoyed a Feast-themed Bible study Q&A on the Sabbath that addressed questions pertaining to prophecy, the millennial reign of Christ, and other Feast-related topics. With a number of first-time attendees, this provided a great opportunity to learn more about God’s plan.
The Feast in Phoenix was marked by a heart of humble service. So many went out of their way to look for opportunities to help one another that nearly half of the Feast site was engaged in some form of service. Participation in activities was also very high. Over 140 brethren gathered in at Kiwanis Park for a family day cookout with a preteen scavenger hunt, novelty games and lots of fellowship. Another 105 individuals gathered to see God’s underwater creation at the newly opened OdySea Aquarium. Our seniors were also very involved in the activities, with 112 participating in our seniors brunch.
Our shared meals on the first Holy Day and the Eighth Day were great highlights as they provided even more time for fellowship amongst friends, new and old.
This year’s Feast in Phoenix was a great success as we submitted to God and truly sought to look forward to His coming Kingdom!
