2018 Feast of Tabernacles
Diani, Kenya
The highest attendance during the eight days was 85 people including international brethren from countries including Canada, the U.S.A., Zambia and Rwanda. It was an enjoyable time as attested to by many, especially the children who could be heard at the last day of the Feast inquiring about next year’s Feast of Tabernacles.
We were privileged to have Senior Pastor Monte Knudson, his wife and two youngest sons with us. Mr. Knudson had to travel to the other two Feast sites in Ogembo and Got Kachola during the course of the Feast and was able to return at the end of the Feast in Diani. We were refreshed by sermons about the soon-coming Kingdom of God and how much we need to remain focused on the ultimate goal. We also had two Bible study sessions, one of which gave the brethren an opportunity to ask questions that were answered from a biblical perspective. We were also treated to a host of pleasant special music from the brethren, including the internationals. A special moment this year was the baptism of 12 members, 10 at Got Kachola and two at Diani, which was done by the senior pastor.
The various social activities the local and international brethren enjoyed included family day games, a barbeque and a game of darts. The women made headlines as they won two times against their male counterparts in tug-of-war. There were also many opportunities to mingle casually throughout the Feast, including going for a swim in the ocean, swimming pool games, evening indoor games and chats. The young married couples also took time to have a discussion amongst themselves concerning the ails of modern-day marriages.
The brethren are already looking forward to the next Feast, which we pray will be even more enjoyable and will present more opportunities to fellowship and serve.
