Each day as brethren gathered for services they could look out on Galveston Bay. The Feast opened on Sunday night with a focus on the Feast welcome video from the home office, the Festival choir and a sermon focusing on God’s instruction to rejoice at the Feast.

On the first holy day 354 attendees were present to hear God’s word expounded. Gary Petty spoke of God’s Kingdom being established and one of the chief outcomes will be the opening of the eyes of the spiritually blind. It will be an amazing time as those who have lived in darkness will, for the first time be able to see what God has planned for all mankind.

Throughout the remainder of the week the ministry focused the brethren on the coming Millennial Kingdom, with messages concerning not losing our spiritual vision, being ready to serve in the Kingdom, putting into practice now the culture of the Kingdom, making God’s priorities our priorities, walking by faith, the application of God’s justice, enduring to the end, and why the Eighth Day is the focal point of all God’s Holy Days.

On Friday evening, Bible studies were held for teens and adults. In the main Bible study Gary Petty focused on what is revealed in Revelation 17 and 18, and the teens focused on God’s vision imparted to all at the Feast of Tabernacles.

Pre-teens also enjoyed two sessions helping them better understand the importance of God’s vision for them even at a young age. Also the youth choir performed wonderful renditions “Hallelujah Our God Reigns” and “I Sing for Joy” led by Kathleen Henry.

Additionally, the special music added to the uplifting Feast environment by providing praises to God. The choir was led by Jason Fritts.

As the Feast began on Sunday evening, the entire week was forecast for clouds and rain. But our God watches over His people as they gather for the Feast. Yes, there was rain throughout the week, but the rain stopped and cleared enough to allow the Galveston Feastgoers to enjoy some of the physical aspects of Galveston: the beaches, restaurants, and historical features of the island. Highlights of the activities available included family day at Moody Gardens and Sunday at the Pleasure Pier theme park.

The Feast in Galveston was a wonderful spiritual and physical foretaste of God’s coming Kingdom.
