2018 Feast of Tabernacles
Orewa, New Zealand
This year was the highest attendance we’ve had in United for a Feast in New Zealand with 185 in attendance. Everyone immediately had the opportunity to get better acquainted with the “meet and greet nibbles” after services on the first day, followed by a group dinner, dance and first-ever variety show as the sun set on the second day. A highlight from the variety show was a showcase of dances from various Pacific islands.
The sun shone brightly for the family fun day afternoon at Wenderholm Regional Park, with the memorable wet-sponge races, bubbles, kiddie parachute, volleyball and an impromptu game of touch footy. The Aussies and Kiwis showed their competitive natures in a brotherly fashion. Some keen young adults woke up early enough to watch the sun rise over the Orewa Beach on the east coast, and later the same day drove an hour to watch the sun set over Muriwai on the west coast.
This year was an excellent “package of messages” showcasing God’s wonderful plan for the coming Kingdom of God, with more focus on how we can better prepare to contribute towards this great prophesied time, becoming like little children. One message explained how the Old Covenant leads us to God and the New Covenant leads us to salvation, and we took a closer look at Jesus Christ’s last Feast of Tabernacles and Eighth Day in A.D. 30.
The New Zealand Feast site for 2019 will be in the Tauhara Centre in Acacia Bay, Taupo region.
