2018 Feast of Tabernacles
Sunshine Coast, Australia
The pristine beach location and the pleasant weather was popular with those seeking a pure beach experience. We also had visitors from other Church of God groups in significant numbers during the Feast. We, of course, welcomed them and hopefully served their festival spiritual needs with the messages presented.
Sermons were given by three speakers, as most of our traditional local speakers took the opportunity to travel to overseas sites this year. Many of our sermonette men were also first-timers, who will now become regulars. Our messages were some of the best we have had, all showing a depth of understanding about the Kingdom of the next age that has been “prepared for us since the foundation of the world.” One memorable message was on “Agriculture in the Millennium” contrasting it with agricultural methods used today resulting in the inability to produce sufficient food and nutritional food for today’s growing population.
A standout is our opportunity to fellowship before and after services with the refreshing tea and coffee served by volunteers from one of our local churches. The time spent in the courtyard of the facility was enjoyed by all.
All other activities included a seniors luncheon, family day, Feast social, youth education classes and teen and young adult activities. Some surprises were that some who had not previously done special music before stepped up and excelled.
We couldn’t have asked for better volunteers at our site to carry out all the duties required to run an inspiring Feast.
