2019 Feast of Tabernacles
St. Raphaël, France
Messages focused on the need for repentance now to be prepared to rule in God’s coming Kingdom of God with many using effective PowerPoint presentations. We also enjoyed an interactive Bible study from Roy Waterhouse on principles of Christian leadership as well as an informative seminar by Eve Gray on “Myths of Evolution.” Tim Pebworth gave an update on the work of the Church in the French-speaking areas and we offered a webcast for those Pour l’Avenir subscribers who are just learning about the Church.
Brethren were able to explore the surrounding area by renting cars or taking planned excursions to Cannes, St. Paul de Vence and Monaco. Situated a short walk from the Mediterranean, Feastgoers experienced a peaceful appreciation of God’s power and Creation as the clouds rolled out over the water each day, contributing to picturesque sunrises and sunsets. A heavy rain on the day of the Cannes excursion provided fond memories.
This festival site was blessed with remarkable special music every day, through vocal solos, choir and small group performances and various instrumental musical offerings. Activities included Family Day, in which families participated in a high ropes course, a zipline and various boating activities in the Mediterranean Sea.
A variety-show-turned-dance allowed people of all ages to dance and appreciate musical performances on one of the last nights of the Feast. Above all, we experienced a spirit of participation, cooperation and mutual support through our eight days together. It was a special time in a special place that God had chosen for us.
