Ambassador Bible Center Class of 2014
We had 42 students this year at the graduation—one student finished mid-year and two others will return for the first semester to complete their studies. The hall was beautifully and tastefully decorated with floral arrangements and wonderful specialty cakes in three flavors. Kathy de Campos (assistant registrar and admissions assistant) and her crew prepared all of the flowers for the graduates and those in the program. Kudos to her and her staff. Her husband Jorge looked after the room set-up along with dean of students, Randy Stiver and his wife Linda, with some ABC Alumni.
Ambassador Bible Center is an institution dedicated to imparting the truths from the pages of the Bible. In addition to the biblical instruction, ABC students are given opportunities for leadership and service to enable them to be strong members of our Church, our community and our country. Students come from all over the United States and other countries to attend this special college-level educational center. With this graduating class, we have completed our 15th year of classes!
The students walked into the hall to Pomp and Circumstance led by monitor Amanda Boyer (2012 graduate). The invocation and welcome was done by program coordinator, Gary Antion. The student discourse from student body president Kyle Bornhorst followed. The ABC chorale presented two musical pieces led by director Kenneth Shoemaker and guest director and chorale representative Courtney Shaw.
President Victor Kubik delivered the graduation address and spoke about how important the knowledge from the Bible is. He stressed that we must not leave the information in the notebooks or in the margins of the Bible, but need to put that information into practice and into our hearts. He said he would miss the class of 2014 for their liveliness and service while at ABC.
Four honor awards were presented. The Ambassador Excellence Award was presented to Kaylee Randle and Mark Miller by Mr. Kubik. The Council of Elders Service Award was given to Chelsea Fike and Joseph Kozenko. The recipients were chosen with input from their classmates who saw them in action all year long.
The diploma presentation followed when dean of the faculty, Steve Myers, recommended the class of 2014 to president Kubik, who conferred upon them the diploma in biblical studies. Mr. Stiver read each name, and Mr. Kubik presented the diplomas to each student as he or she came upon the stage. After all received their diplomas, a hearty round of applause was given to them all.
Frank McCrady, one of ABC’s instructors, gave the benediction and prayed for God’s continued guidance upon the class as they move on in their careers and in life.
All were invited to join in celebrating the accomplishment of the class of 2014 with a dessert reception.
The class of 2014 has a wonderful future ahead of them as they continue their education in God’s Word.
