Feast of Tabernacles Will Be Held in Portugal in 2013
Services will be held on the eighth floor of Hotel Costa da Caparica. This seafront, four-star hotel is serviced by many restaurants and eating facilities on the continental esplanades just outside the hotel.
Costa da Caparica is south of Lisbon, across the River Tagus, and is easily reached from Lisbon airport in about half an hour by taxi (may be longer if traffic is heavy). It is a pleasant fishing and vacation village with various shops on the “fisherman’s street” (Rua dos Pescadores), within walking distance from the hotel where services will be held.
The region where Costa de Caparica is situated is called Almada in the “Costa Azul” (Blue Coast) and is a popular tourist destination. Costa de Caparica is well known for its extensive sandy beaches with fine, white sand. The River Tagus separates Lisbon downtown (north bank) from Almada (south bank). A large suspension bridge joins the two areas. The Atlantic Ocean, the Tagus River and the picturesque sand banks marry together to make a wonderful destination for the Feast in Portugal.
As most of the speakers are English speakers, simultaneous translation into Portuguese will be available.
The proximity of the Feast site to Lisbon allows visits to historic sites, such as where the first navigators left, castles, museums, etc. Special group tours with tour guides in English will be organized during the Feast, and we will notify you of such tours as the Feast draws closer.
