On Oct. 14, Jorge de Campos and his wife Kathy visited Maloca de Moscou with David Hershberger from North Canton, Ohio, and Clyde Chinian from GeorgeTown, Guyana. They were accompanied by Benedito Gomes da Silva, deacon, and his wife Ana Helena, deaconess, from Maloca de Moscou.

They inspected the borehole dug by LifeNets. The Boa Vista-based drilling company Cataratas had drilled the borehole and installed the water pumping mechanism in the preceding weeks.

The first 56 feet (17 meters) of drilling were through dry sand. Below 56 feet depth they hit the water table, and the sand was now mixed with water. At about 70 feet (21 meters) depth, they hit rock. They continued digging through solid rock until 255 feet (78 meters) deep, where they found the first underwater vein of crystal clear water. They dug past two more veins and finally at 260 feet (80 meters), they hit a vein of water so strong that shot water up to about 70 feet (20 meters) high in the sky.

That’s when they stopped digging and installed an electrical water pump at a depth of 100 feet (30m). The pump has a flow rate of 9,000 liters (2,378 gallons) per hour. The underwater table begins at 56 feet (17m) deep.

The brethren said that the water came from a rock, like the water Jesus Christ gave to the Israelites from a rock (Exodus 17:6).

Now we are proceeding ahead with the next phase of the agricultural project, which is to prepare the land for the Youth Corps agricultural project in December 2014, and to build a water storage tower. We have already given the men funds to plow, fertilize, and fence the land in preparation for the Youth Corps project.

The brethren decided to plow an area of about 1,100 square feet (100 square meters) into two plots of land each of about 550 square feet (50 square meters) each. One will be fenced with chicken wire 6 feet (1.8 meters) high to protect the area from dogs and chickens, and it will be used for planting various vegetables. The other area of equal size will be for a fruit orchard, also for various types of fruit.

They will be getting cow manure from the community ranch to fertilize the land. We already gave them funds donated from members to purchase seeds for planting during the Youth Corps project in the second half of December 2014. This Youth Corps project will be composed of eight members, God willing, and it will be led by Dr. Paul Syltie. Jorge de Campos will travel with them as the translator.
