2023 Feast of Tabernacles
Antananarivo, Madagascar
Madagascar is the fourth largest island in the world, situated off the southeast coast of Africa. In the capital, Antananarivo, 30 people gathered for the first time to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.
The topics of the sermonettes and sermons constituted spiritual knowledge and rejuvenation for everyone. They also contained the description of the divine purposes for mankind and provided spiritual preparation for the members of the future Kingdom of God. Special activities included practical training in fruit growing and members learned a lot during the visits, as most are subsistence farmers. The majority of members were also coming to Antananarivo for the first time, and they took advantage of this opportunity to visit and buy basic necessities like shoes, clothing, plates and bowls.
The Feast of Tabernacles was a very good opportunity for all members to learn together the hymns translated into Malagasy by us. A copy of the book in Malagasy was given to members as well as a recording of the hymns sung together in Malagasy and English.
A special effort was made to purchase and give a Bible to every family that did not have one.
We give great thanks to the help from the Church abroad, Église de Dieu Unie France and the United Church of God in the United States.
