None of us would think of meeting the president of the United States or some other important person with our cell phone in hand or while reading a book. We would not want to be caught in our sloppiest clothes. We would want to be prepared—ready to focus our attention on a memorable moment.

Our Creator surpasses anyone we know by a difference that is as great as the difference between our earth and heaven (Isaiah 55:9). How much effort and focus should we put forth when we come to Him in prayer? Nothing less than our full concentration is acceptable and even that is not enough—except that His great mercy makes us acceptable. Prayer is an opportunity to meet with the greatest of all beings. It is time to use wisely.
