"Blame It on the Rain' was a popular hit song by the group Milli Vanilli in the late 1980s. It's a song basically detailing how a man's pride led him to let go of the girl he loves, and now that he misses her, he's blaming everything and everybody but himself. That’s why the song (sarcastically) states, "Blame it on the rain, blame it on the stars, whatever you do, don't put the blame on you."

The whole recording later was found to be based on lies, as the public learned that the group was not actually singing the songs but lip-synching. When that was discovered, they were dropped by the record company and their tours were canceled.

We live in a world where deceit is the norm, whether blaming others for our deeds or outright lying to get ahead or to cover up our mistakes. Proverbs 12:17 says, "He who speaks truth declares righteousness, but a false witness, deceit."

The Ten Commandments are a gift to those who have been set free, showing them how they can keep their freedom. To be able to trust a man's word is a beautiful freedom.
