Eat, Drink and Be Merry
This was a conclusion, and it leads us into a thought. Could that be true—is enjoying life the most important thing? Eternity lies before us all, and the life we live now is very temporary. Since we face eternity, does not wisdom dictate that we ought to be preparing for that?
The author also concluded that a person ought to think about our Creator when we are young. We ought to focus on God before we are unable to find any pleasure in living (Ecclesiastes 12:1, Ecclesiastes 12:6). We go to our eternal home, and if we have not prepared by knowing the One who is in charge, then we will have lost a great deal. It is proper to enjoy life, but not without a strong preparation for eternity.
