The importance of discipline, especially in child-rearing, is often rejected by parents in our modern society. But not only do the scriptures focus on the need for parents to apply it, but doing so also provides the foundation needed for individuals to become disciples of God when they become adults.

He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from Ambassador College, a Master's Degree in Communication from California State University, Fullerton, and a Ph.D. in Communication from University of Oklahoma. Philip and his wife, Sarah, have two children.
