Letter From Dan Preston
October 4, 2024
Good evening brethren and Happy Sabbath! Just a reminder that we have a potluck in all three congregations tomorrow and services will be at 10:30 in all locations.
Almost here!
Can you believe the Feast of Tabernacles is almost here???? It's less than two weeks away. And while some travel plans will not doubt be affected, it seems God has blessed everyone in our area with still being able to travel, in spite of the damage caused by hurricane Helene.
Of course, we just celebrated a wonderful Feast of Trumpets yesterday, and will be observing the Day of Atonement next week. And before that, we have a weekly Sabbath tomorrow.
Holy Time
This got me to thinking. The Feast of Tabernacles is no doubt a high water mark for must of us. We look forward to it all year long, and enjoy the fellowship, the break from our regular work or school week and beautiful locations.
While those are all good things to enjoy, let us remember Leviticus 23:1-2, "And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 'Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: "The feasts of the Lord, which you shall proclaim to be holy convocations, these are My feasts."'"
Make the most of it
These are God's feasts - every single one of them. Not just the Feast of Tabernacles, but the weekly Sabbath too and the Day of Atonement. While we might physically enjoy the Feast of Tabernacles the most, let's remember what a blessing it is to have all of this holy time to spend with God the Father coming up so quickly.
May each of the upcoming Feast days - from Sabbath to Tabernacles - be special time that you thoroughly enjoy with God!
