Have you ever wondered what it was like for the apostle Paul while he was in prison? Or how about Joseph? How do you think they felt? Lonely, depressed or abandoned?

Though he wasn't in prison, the description of what Lot experienced in Sodom can give you some idea of what prison is like (2 Peter 2:7-8).

How much do we think about the shut-ins or those in prison (Matthew 25:34-36)? Some do remember the prisoners. How do I know? I am a prisoner myself, and several have extended their greetings in writing to me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not asking you to feel sorry for us. I am guilty of sin and am paying the price for it. I have also repented of my sins and have been forgiven. I was even able to take the Passover this year. I feel I have been blessed in many areas.

There are many "shut-ins" out there who would love to hear from their brethren. You may be surprised at how joyous it makes them feel to get cards, letters and even visits.

Some say, "I don't know what to say." Do you think it really matters to a shut-in or prisoner what you say? Just the very fact that you were willing to reach out with the fruit of God's Spirit and touch us is all it takes. But, if it helps, what I personally enjoy are Sabbath notes, personal Bible studies, anything.

In the passage in Matthew 25, Christ tells those who served the sick and prisoners, "Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me" (Matthew 25:40).
