×Come join us as we celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles 2023 at Jekyll Island, Georgia! This year marks the 60th anniversary of when Church members first gathered for a festival on this beautiful island, back in 1963. Jekyll Island is a protected state park and offers a millennial-type setting which emphasizes God’s glorious creation as we worship together and celebrate the coming Kingdom of God!
Services: Daily services will be held at the Jekyll Island Convention Center, which is positioned along the oceanfront and provides ample parking. Additional Bible studies and youth education classes will also be available for children, teens and young adults.
Housing: A variety of festival housing is available on-and-off the island and members are welcome to make reservations at the accommodation of their choice. For those who prefer camping, the Jekyll Island Campground offers 18 wooded acres with numerous tent and RV sites.
Activities: Church activities include meet-and-greet opportunities for various age groups, a teen activity, a family day at the Beach Pavilion, a senior’s luncheon and a family dance. Temperatures in October are expected to be very pleasant, with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the 60s Fahrenheit. Jekyll Island offers a peaceful and relaxing environment, along with a variety of activities for everyone in the family. Consider taking a tram ride of the charming Historical District or tour the Turtle Center on the island. There are plenty of beaches to roam, trails to walk, horseback riding along the beach or bicycling around the island. Additional activities include swimming, golfing, miniature golf, tennis and dolphin tours. If you prefer to canoe or kayak, the Tidelands Nature Center offers rentals, as well as several exhibits for live marine animals.
Travel: Two major airports are located about an hour away in Jacksonville, Florida and Savannah, Georgia. Additional housing, restaurants, shopping and a smaller airport are available in Brunswick, Georgia. Currently, there is an $8 toll, per vehicle, as visitors enter the island.
Taxes: State tax is 7 percent; hotel tax is 5 percent, plus a $5 per night Georgia resort tax.
