English and Computer Skills in Haiti 2019 (postponed until further notice)

Good Works and United Youth Corps are sponsoring a project in Haiti! This project will take place in Mirebalais in two sessions. The first session will run from June 23, 2019 to July 14, 2019; the second session will run from July 14, 2019 to August 4, 2019.

This project will provide an intensive six week course in English and computers. We are seeking eight volunteers (two teams of four) to travel to Haiti where they will work with 14 students teaching English and basic computer skills. Both of these skills are highly sought after in employees in Haiti and will provide a significant economic advantage to the participants. Though the class size is small, it will be offered to United Church of God members, as well as members of the community.

Volunteers must be spiritually grounded, willing to work in difficult circumstances, and able to adapt in the face of hardship. Proficiency in French Creole is helpful, but not required.
