Love means a lot of things in the English language. We can use it to talk about how much we love our spouse of many years or how much we love coffee. In the Koine Greek language that the New Testament was recorded, they had many specific words describing relationships and feelings we might call generally “Love”. However, when scripture said “God is Love” is that we as Christians must be developing the fruit of “love”, God inspired a particular Greek word to be used. It’s important that we understand what that specific word meant and how it was used in Scripture as we conclude and reach the pinnacle of this sermon series.
